PianoRemote is a control app developed for Kawai digital/hybrid pianos, allowing players to change sounds, adjust settings, and enjoy the wide variety of built-in music.[*1]

・ Easy operation of your Kawai digital/hybrid piano using a smartphone or tablet PianoRemote allows various functions of the digital/hybrid piano to be easily selected.
・ Consistent UI design with Kawai digital/hybrid piano touch panel PianoRemote is designed to allow easy, intuitive operation via a smartphone or tablet. The user interface is standardised, meaning there is no need to learn new operations. ・ Music player feature that can be used like a music app PianoRemote includes a wide variety of songs and classical pieces that are built-in to Kawai digital/hybrid pianos.[*2] This music can be controlled in the same way as a regular music app. However, it’s also possible to change the sound used for playback, allowing songs and classical pieces to be enjoyed with a different tonal character and atmosphere.
・ Interact with music using “Lesson” and “Concert Magic” modes In addition to listening to the built-in songs and classical pieces, the additional “Lesson” and “Concert Magic” modes allow musicians to practice the music, and non-musicians to enjoy playing pieces and learning rhythm with a single finger.[*3]
・ Control various built-in functions PianoRemote can be used to control various functions of the Kawai digital/hybrid piano. For example, the Metronome is an essential aid for practise, the Virtual Technician allows the sound and other aspects of the piano to be adjusted to suit one’s person preference, while the Dual and Split functions allow different sounds to be combined for more engaging performances.[*4]
・ Straightforward connection using Bluetooth MIDI PianoRemote supports Bluetooth MIDI wireless communication, allowing immediate connection to the Kawai digital/hybrid piano without the need for additional cables.[*5]
・ Compatible with iOS/Android smartphones and tablets PianoRemote supports both iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, allowing the app to be used on a range of different devices, for many years.[*6]

App works well with Yamaha's UD-BT1 Bluetooth Midi USB adapter connected to our Kawai KDP75 on Android. Minor side note: For me, Bluetooth sync sometimes gets lost when Android decides to put the Bluetooth connection to sleep while the app is running. The only remedy then is to close the app, restart it, and reconnect as reconnecting of the then currently running app fails.

With Kawai atx200 it has little bugs. But overall 4 of 5...lesson part is really good. I have no problems with connection but support from Kawai is limited. In my opinion the should have left touch screen in piano directly but what can you do

It's a fairly good app. A little slow connecting sometimes, but otherwise I'm very happy with it. It's a shame the rating is so low because of all the reviews of people who don't have compatible pianos. If you wanted this app specifically, check the piano you are buying uses it first. Or buy a piano from someone that offers an exchange or return guarantee. This is really simple stuff. Don't review an app badly if you can't use it because of your own choices and because you were too lazy to check.

Great app, useful features such as recording the piano directly instead of through a microphone. Could add some way of finding out what each setting in the digital technician does though.

Android app does not see my ca59 while iOS app does. But I cannot invoke usb recording from the app and cannot change sound while recording to usb invoked from piano controls. Please fix it. Please allow accessing sound change menus while recording to usb. Otherwise, instrument is perfect.

Device sees the Piano (KDP120) in the Bluetooth device list. But App doesn't find it. Tried on two Android devices. Utter garbage, very disappointed. Edit: Upgrading to two stars because I found out what to do: You have to turn on location services to connect! Why this is beyond me, the app doesn't tell you to enable it either. Once connected, you can turn it off again. App is not very well-designed either and lacks in functions. Expected better from such a reputable manufacturer.

Does not connect to the £8500 piano most of the time. It is a very frustrating experience. I wouldn't buy a Kawai again.
