Whether you are setting up for a night of visual observing or preparing for astrophotography, Polar Scope Align Pro tells you exactly where to position the pole star in your polar scope reticle for your location and time. No polar scope? The app can also guide alignment using your phone alone. The latest version of the polar alignment routine can even use a camera sun/star calibration for better accuracy than a compass.
Features:
• POLAR SCOPE ALIGNMENT The app calculates the precise position of Polaris in the northern hemisphere or Sigma Octantis in the southern hemisphere inside your reticle in real time. Simply match what you see in the eyepiece to the on-screen display. Supports more than 35 reticle patterns covering virtually every mount from Sky-Watcher, iOptron, Celestron, Vixen, Losmandy, Orion, and many more.
• DAYTIME / NO POLAR SCOPE ALIGNMENT The Daytime Alignment tool guides you to point your mount toward the celestial pole using your phone's sensors alone, no need for a polar scope. Use it day or night, it does not require a pole star.
• CAMERA AZIMUTH CALIBRATION Reduce compass errors caused by metal or magnetic equipment. Centre the Sun, Moon, or a bright star in your phone camera and the app calibrates to an accurate azimuth heading. With the help of the gyro, the app will guide you to a more accurate phone-only alignment.
• BUBBLE LEVEL AND COMPASS A precision bubble level and compass are built in, making it easier to level your tripod or mount before alignment. The compass also supports the camera azimuth calibration for high accuracy.
• XASTERIA ASTRO WEATHER FORECAST Includes the Xasteria weather app, for multi-source (7Timer, MET.no, Apple Weather) configurable weather forecasts for amateur astronomers with cloud layers, seeing, transparency and more.
