Why does it work? It is normal for language learners to experience more language exposure than language creation. Language creation is hard and needs to be nurtured.
There are different ways to increase your active vocabulary (words that you have the ability to use, not just understand). This includes intense repetition, consuming content you enjoy (books, series, movies), flashcards, etc. These methods are great and should be part of any language learners tool kit.

Cool concept, granted you know enough in your chosen languages to write simple image descriptions. That can be more challenging than other learning systems! But also more fun.

Very slow, nice idea tho. It takes FOREVER to load. I can't learn when I need to wait 2 minutes for the picture to load. Also, it's not for beginners for maybe intermediate-beginners but not for beginners.

Lots of languages available but NOT FOR BEGINNERS. You're given an image, and you have to describe it in a language you don't know to a partner, so they can guess what the image is. If I have zero words of vocabulary, that's not super helpful? I now realize from reading reviews that the developers are very specific about this being intended for intermediate level learners. I'd LOVE for them to retitle the game Polyglots: PRACTICE Languages then. It's misleading + frustrating.

This app seems to have stopped working. My account (which I've had for two years) won't work, forgot password isn't working, create new account isn't working and the contact email address rejects emails. The whole thing seems to be dead.
