The Track Precision App is your digital track tool for automatically recording video and Car Data and analysing it afterwards.
The Porsche Track Precision App is available for the following Porsche models in combination with the Sport Chrono Package and Porsche Connect equipment options: - 991/981 GT vehicles from model year 2015 - 991 II/982 from model year 2017 (from week 45/2016) - All 992 derivatives - Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan from model year 2022 If you have any questions regarding availability, please contact your Porsche Partner.
Variable use options With the 'Laptimer' function, you can automatically measure your lap time on the race track and display the real-time deviation or your performance live. For trips on public roads, the 'Freedrive' function can be used to capture special moments with photos and videos along the route.
Automatic lap time recording Thanks to precise GPS data, lap times can be automatically recorded. You can select your desired track from over 300 predefined race tracks worldwide or simply create your own.
Precise Car Data recording The Porsche Track Precision App is connected with various control units through the Porsche Communication Management system or a special app control unit and records accurate data from the vehicle sensors.
Video analysis While driving, use your smartphone or the optional Porsche Dashcam to record up to two videos from different angles to analyse later. Videos are available to view on your smartphone right after your drive – enhanced with useful driving data to improve your performance.
Driving performance analysis By connecting to the vehicle sensors, the app enables you to analyse additional driving data after your drive, which can be compared with previous drives, allowing you to improve your performance, for example, in relation to the steering angle, braking pressure and the accelerator pedal's position. Videos and driving data can also be exported to your PC for detailed analysis. Share your driving experience with friends through social networking sites.
Community Share your recordings and routes with other Porsche drivers in the community. Search, find, analyse and compare community recordings.
Drive predefined routes created by other community members.

The accuracy of the displayed values, evaluations and analyses cannot be guaranteed as conditions can vary. The use of GPS on a smartphone can decrease the smartphone battery life if the phone is not connected to one of the vehicle charging options. Works well, but really wish it would retain higher resolution when exporting laps with overlays. Hopefully a product manager sees this. 1280x720 is too low.

Works pretty well. Some more detailed documentation would be useful, like what does the "percentage of time at your limit" metric indicate? It's probably not as good as Harry's Lap Timer, but it's also free, and it directly uses the vehicle GPS and data feed, including whenever PSM is active. In short, if you have a GT car, give it a try. And buy the RAM X-mount recommend by Harry's to hold your phone.

It seems Porsche can't hold a candle to a Chevy Camaro when it comes to track data recorder applications. As much as I love the GT4, this $2000 option on the car should be free since it's useless without a functioning back end app. It continually crashes, won't reliably or consistently create data analysis as advertised particular in real time between sessions when it's useful, video that occasionally works, occasionally doesn't, intermittently connects or makes you reconnect to the car, will or won't let you enter a guest driver, etc. You name it, it's buggy everywhere. The option should be free with vehicle until this app can be sorted out. As advertised, and when you can get anything to work, it's what you would hope for from an OEM integrated app, but it never just comes through like the car it supports. You're far better off with an AIM Solo or any of the other app based lap timers, but they won't tell you that. Running on a Google Pixel 5, as clean as you get for an android OS.

Can't connect to my GoPro, never shows up. Also, can't import the video once I transfer it from my GoPro to my phone. App keeps saying it needs additional storage permission, but I already gave it full perms.
