Quilted Nook Fives

A quiet patchwork puzzle for the end of the day.

Quilted Nook Fives is a Suguru puzzle, also known as Tectonic. The board is cut into irregular patches of one to five cells. A patch of three cells holds 1, 2 and 3. A patch of five holds 1 through 5. Simple so far -- and then the rule that gives the puzzle its character: no two identical numbers may ever touch. Not side by side, not above or below, and not diagonally, even across a seam into a completely different patch.

That single restriction turns a small grid into a long chain of clean deductions. Every board is solved by logic alone. You will never need to guess.

WHAT IS INSIDE
- Three quilt sizes: a 6x6 Cozy Nook for a short sitting, a 7x7 Snug Quilt for the everyday puzzle, and a dense 8x8 Tight Weave when you want the diagonal rule pressing in from every side.
- A fresh board every time. Puzzles are cut, filled and trimmed on your device, and clues are only removed while a solver can still prove exactly one solution remains.
- Pencil marks. Long-press the quilt to switch to note mode and jot the candidates you are still weighing up.
- Check, to outline every cell that currently repeats a number in its patch or touches a twin.
- Hint, when a chain refuses to open, revealing one correct cell.
- A full undo stack, a running timer, and automatic completion the moment the last patch is placed.
- An illustrated pattern book that animates the eight blocked neighbours so the diagonal rule is easy to see.
- A quilting log with finished counts, best times and average times for each size.
- Thirteen ribbons to pin, from your first finished quilt to a long hint-free run.

BUILT TO BE CALM
- Completely offline. The app never asks for the internet and has no network permission at all.
- No ads, ever. Nothing is sold inside the app.
- No sound. Not a single tone, chime or piece of music -- only gentle optional vibration you can switch off.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no tracking, no analytics. Your progress lives on your device and nowhere else.
- Portrait only, with a warm patchwork palette drawn entirely in code: pastel rose, sage, butter and cream on a cream ground, stitched together with dashed running seams.
- Your half-finished quilt is remembered, so you can put the phone down mid-puzzle and pick the same board back up later.

WHO IT IS FOR
If you like sudoku, kakuro, kenken or nonograms but want something with its own shape, Suguru is a lovely change of pace. The regions are small, the numbers only go up to five, and the whole difficulty lives in how the patches press against each other. It is friendly enough to learn in a minute and deep enough to keep you at the frame.
