It was easy to install and set up instructions are very clear. After I set my zones up I was able to use soaking feature that allows custom soaking periods within the desired total watering time for a specific zone. This works great for hill sides. When troubleshooting a specific zone I can stand in my yard and turn the zone on in off from my phone. I have encountered slow link uptimes, but not enough to go back to running back to the controller for a manual run.

Like other reviews I can no longer connect to the controller. I've used the app for the past 5 years, and now it breaks?! WTH Rain Bird your products are better than this...or they used to be. After a couple emails the good employees at Rain Bird did get my issue resolved.

I've had the RB Wi-Fi dongle installed on my ESP-TM2 for over 2 years. And for the most part, it's worked exceptionally well. Setup was relatively painless but had to get into my router settings and disable the 5G band so that it would recognize the 2.4G band that it uses (re-enabled 5G afterward). One bug/annoyance is that when trying to open certain files (like contacts in G-Mail), the RB "import controller" opens. I also forgot my password to get into settings, therefore I can't.

Having used other irrigation apps I find this one a little better than average. Wireless connection to the controller is painfully slow and fails at times. The user interface could be made more intuitive and simpler. A feature missing is being able to add photos to identify each zone. With 12 zones it is hard to find the right zone when trying to do spot watering.

The Rainbird Wi-Fi module that is supposed to give remote control is a very disappointing product. Endless waiting times for "broadcasting to controller", "waiting for response from controller", etc. etc. And when the phone screen goes to power saving mode, it all starts over again. Most of the time the wait does not end in a working app. A waste of money. The second star is just me being nice.

The worst device and app I've seen. It simply doesn't work. Waste of money. And it doesn't come cheap. Shame.

Utter garbage. Incredibly difficult to connect a controller to Wi-Fi. And after finally connecting a controller the app still requires permissions for nearby devices and location even though it is no longer needed. Can't get rid of those permissions.
