PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: THE APP IS IN GERMAN
Menus, counters and every single one of Turbo-Oma's remarks are in German.
There is no English version, and there is no language switch. If you don't
read German, this app is not for you — we would rather say so here than have
you find out after paying for it.
This store page may have been translated automatically by Google. The app
itself was not.
Still here? Then you probably speak German and live somewhere else. Welcome.
WHAT IT DOES
Renten Countdown turns your retirement date into real numbers — with real
humor and without a single financial paragraph. It is not a pension
calculator, not a financial planner and not a motivational tool. It counts.
BEFORE RETIREMENT
Enter your retirement date and the countdown starts:
• Days until you retire — precise to the day
• Working days, Mondays, tax returns
• Monthly travel passes, clock changes, World Cups
• Christmas parties, weekends, whatever you like
• A progress bar showing how far you already are
• Turbo-Oma comments on every milestone
You have come a long way. The numbers prove it — honestly, and without
sugar-coating.
ALREADY RETIRED?
The app also runs forward, counting everything you have already earned:
• Days in retirement — the counter that matters
• Cups of coffee, Sunday-night crime dramas, spa weekends
• Your own counters: you decide what counts
At the moment you retire, the tone flips. The app stops being cynical and
becomes warm. That switch is the whole point.
TURBO-OMA
Our mascot grandmother has an opinion every day, delivered as a push
notification each lunchtime. She surfs, she pushes her walker, and she has an
answer for everything. Notifications can be switched off.
The longer you use the app, the more badges you unlock: five stages, five
illustrations, from newcomer to legend. Becoming a legend takes time.
Fortunately you know exactly where to get some.
YOUR RETIREMENT DATE — YOURS, NOT GERMANY'S
To get you going, the app proposes a date from your year of birth using the
German statutory pension age (SGB VI). If you are not in the German system,
that proposal might not match yours exactly — so put in the one that does.
The date is an ordinary field: tap it, set your day — early retirement, civil
service, a different country altogether — and the whole app follows it. Every
counter, every milestone and every remark from Turbo-Oma is measured against
your date. It is also the only thing the app ever asks you for.

FOR SOMEONE WHO IS RETIRING
A colleague finishing up? A parent starting their retirement? Renten Countdown
is funny, personal and stays relevant every single day — not a one-off present,
but a companion.
One practical note: Google Play has no gifting function, so the app has the
next best thing built in — a message with a link, sent straight from the app.
They tap it and buy the app themselves. Ten seconds, and it still lands on the
right day.
The one condition, as above: they read German.
No subscription. No account. No data in the cloud.
Just your countdown — and Turbo-Oma.
"Du hast lange genug gearbeitet. Jetzt wird gezählt."
("You've worked long enough. Now we start counting.")
