Reset: Fasting Timer

Reset is a fasting timer for people who want to understand what they are doing, not just watch a clock run down.

Pick a plan, start the timer, and Reset walks you through the fast: what stage your body is likely in, what the research actually says about it, and when the next change is due.

TRACK A FAST

• 16:8, 18:6, 20:4, OMAD, 24h, or set your own target
• A live countdown with a stage-by-stage progress dial
• Started late? Adjust the start time after the fact
• End early without losing the record — partial fasts still count toward your history

UNDERSTAND THE TIMELINE

Reset maps ten stages, from the fed state through to extended fasting, and tells you where the evidence for each one stands:

• Well established — consistently measured in human studies
• Emerging — documented in humans, exact timing still being mapped
• Preliminary — mostly animal or small human studies

Autophagy is the clearest example. The signalling changes are well documented in people, but almost all direct measurement comes from animal work. Reset says so instead of printing a confident hour. Any app that gives you an exact number is overstating what is known.

Stage timings are population averages. They shift with your last meal, how fat-adapted you are, and how active you have been — and the app keeps saying so.

COACHING THAT IS NOT NOISE

Notifications are scheduled, not random:

• Every stage transition inside your window
• Hydration check-ins through the fast
• Progress at 25%, 50% and 75%, plus a final-hour prompt
• A completion alert when you hit target

Three separate channels, so you can silence hydration nudges and keep stage alerts. Beats that land too close together are dropped — a stage change never arrives on top of a water reminder.

SEE THE PATTERN

• Streaks, levels and badges earned from real completed fasts
• Trends across your history — average length, completion rate, longest fast
• Every number is derived from your session history, so nothing drifts out of sync

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT

• No account, no sign-up, no email required
• No internet permission — the app cannot send your data anywhere
• No ads, no trackers, no analytics
• Everything stays on your device

A NOTE ON SAFETY

Reset is an educational tool, not medical advice, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.

Fasting is not appropriate for everyone. Reset shows a safety notice before you start that covers pregnancy and breastfeeding, type 1 diabetes, insulin or sulfonylurea use, a history of disordered eating, being underweight, and being under 18. Fasts beyond 48 hours are flagged as needing clinical supervision.

Talk to a doctor before changing how you eat, especially if any of the above applies to you.
