RiverPilot: River Navigation

RiverPilot turns your phone into a complete river boat dashboard — charts, depth, battery, weather, water levels, crew and a voice navigator, all on one screen.
It is built FOR RIVERS (Danube, Sava, Tisza, Rhine), not for the sea — with data that ordinary maps simply do not have.

🧭 NAVIGATION AND OFFICIAL CHARTS
• GPS cockpit: your boat's position, speed and course
• Official Inland Electronic Navigational Charts (IENC), fairway and river kilometer (RKM)
• CEVNI waterway signs, explained
• Bridge clearance (height) and live AIS traffic

🌊 RIVER CONDITIONS AND WEATHER
• Water levels from official sources, with a rising/falling trend
• Weather, forecast and Notices to Skippers (NtS)

🔋 YOUR OWN HARDWARE (optional)
• Battery monitor (BMS) and depth sounder (sonar) via a cheap ESP32 — live
• Shallow water and low battery alarms

🗣 VOICE NAVIGATOR
• Ask out loud while your hands stay on the helm — it answers back

👥 COMMUNITY AND FLEET
• Channel 77 — private and group messaging for skippers
• RiverInfo — skippers share river hazards live (shallows, obstacles, floating debris)

📒 LOGBOOK
• An automatic log of every trip, GPS track, export to GPX/KML
• Cloud backup — change your phone and lose nothing
FREE during beta — no subscription, no ads.

Recent changes:
• The app no longer crashes on startup, and it crashes much less often on phones with little memory.
• You can now delete your own report from the map — with a two-step confirmation, so an accidental tap doesn't wipe it.
• If the phone has no GPS fix yet, you get a warning and no empty report is sent.
• The map is steadier when you change the layer or the map source.
• Interrupted map downloads no longer leave leftover files on your phone.
