RyeDC: Car Logbook, Fare Meter

RyeDC is a free ATO car logbook and automatic mileage tracker for Australian drivers who claim car expenses. Switch tracking on once and every drive in your car is recorded on its own, filed as business by default and ready to print as the logbook the ATO asks for, with your business-use percentage kept up to date for tax time. Whether you drive rideshare, deliver, run a taxi, or use your car for any other work, RyeDC keeps the records a driver has to keep. Taking private bookings? The live fare meter is a taxi meter at your own rates.

Automatic mileage tracking - the logbook that writes itself
• Drives are detected and logged without opening the app, with the phone in your pocket. No Start, no Stop.
• A drive in your car is filed as business by default. Move the personal ones with a swipe. RyeDC never files a drive as personal on your behalf.
• Match each car to its Bluetooth stereo and drives are recorded against the right vehicle.
• A slider from "Catch more drives" to "Fewer false starts" keeps other people's rides out of your log.
• Combine drives split by a short stop into one journey.
• Reminders to read the odometer, at the end of the tax year and for drives to categorise.
• Prefer typing readings? Record shifts by hand, or use both together.

ATO car logbook - the logbook method, in one document
• The Vehicle logbook holds what the ATO asks for: the car's make, model, registration and engine capacity; the odometer at each end of the period and of every journey; each journey's date, distance, destination suburb and reason; and when each entry was made.
• Find your representative logbook period, tested against the rest of your year, with your best and least twelve weeks for comparison and an estimate of your year's business use.
• Business-use percentage measured against how far the odometer moved, so a missed drive never inflates your claim.
• A reason on every business journey, with a default you set once.
• Correct an entry freely for a week. After that, every change is listed in the logbook.
• Financial year, weekly, monthly or any dates you choose, as PDF and Excel for your accountant.
• As many cars as you like, each with its own vehicle logbook.

Live fare meter - the price in real time
• See the fare during the trip, not at the end: distance, time and fare together, with the route on the map. The fare stays on the lock screen.
• Set up a rate card for each service you drive for and switch between them.
• Quote a trip before it starts, then use the quote as the agreed price.
• Earnings for every service by week, month or financial year, as PDF and Excel.
• Add surge, top-ups and tolls during a trip and tips afterwards. Trip details breaks the fare down line by line.
• Invoice any trip from your business details, in Australia or elsewhere, as a PDF.

Around Me - places drivers share
A map of places other drivers have marked and rated: public toilets, surge locations and street food. Thumbs up or down on things like easy parking, female-friendly places and driver discounts.

Cleaning register
Log a full clean or a sanitise against your car, with a high-touch-surface checklist, and export the register as PDF or Excel.

• Sign in with email or Google. Your records back up to the cloud and sync across your devices.

Free, and private by design
No subscription, no trial that runs out.
• Location is used to measure your driving, place you on the map and price a quote, nothing else. It is never sold, and it is never sent to an advertiser.
• Help improve the app, under Account, turns analytics and crash reporting off together.
• Ads can be personalised. Change this in your phone's ad settings, or under Account › Ad privacy choices where the law requires a choice.
