Trash app NEVER UPDATE FIRMWARE USING THIS APP. After Updating using this app it crashed the firmware and password protection was gone. I had to send it for Repair. Never use this for UPDATE Also, it randomly shows device needs to restart for no reason with my Galaxy S23. It should be renamed to Samsung Nightmare not samsung magician.

★☆☆☆☆ Ashwin Suthar · Oct 4, 2025

On S23 when T7 Shield is connected, the Samsung Magician software is causing the unsafe shutdown counter in S.M.A.R.T section to increase even when the ssd is not unplugged this is a cause of concern. This happens when password is set in T7 shield. I can see in the comments that many users are facing the same issue. App developers do you have any solution for it??

★☆☆☆☆ Anders Lestander · May 16, 2026

Reports my Samsung SSD T7 as not genuine, although the desktop version of Magician 9.0.1 lists it as genuine.

SSD T7 (1 TB) Samsung magician. I am not able to launch Magician. Stuck into update. Upon launching the Magician I am advised that an update is available. One must click Update because the Start button is disabled. After the installation, I am told that the update is lower of the version already Installed. I went through the uninstallation. Still not able to open the drive at all. It is PW protected. I tried the instructions on the Samsung forum. They do not work for me. SAMSUNG, PLEASE FIX.
