Silence Premium Do Not Disturb

★★★★★ I just upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ to a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and I moved the apps and data with Samsung's Smart Switch. Unfortunately, this app's settings did not migrate. But I did get it working successfully, again. The problems come from Android's push to save battery power and limit permissions. Here's what I had to do: 1) Delete the app and re-install fresh from Google Play. 2) Go to Settings | Battery and toggle off Power savings mode. 3) Go to Settings | Battery | Background usage limits and toggle off Put unused apps to sleep. 4) Go to Settings | Battery | Background usage limits | Never sleeping apps and Add the Silence or Silence Premium app. 5) Go to Settings | Apps | Silence or Silence Premium and set: -- Notifications to Allowed ---- Go to Silence Status and set to Alert or Silent ---- Go to Silence Status and set Lock screen to Show content ---- Go to Silence Status and set to Ignore Do not disturb -- Permissions to Calendar and Phone NOTES: I have relied on Silence Premium for years, and the only difficulties encountered have been due to the increasing granularity of the Android OS over the years. I am also very cautious of conflicting apps. Lastly, I have not used Exceptions like preferred callers or multiple calls from the same number, so Contact permissions were not used by me. This is a fantastic app since it leverages your Calendar appointments. Keep fighting the good fight, i.e., don't let this app fade away!

★★★★★ Great app! It scans your calendar looking for keywords, such as "mute" and the phone is silent during that time. Numbers that you pick can have access, and other features are available, too.

★★★★★ UPDATE 2023: This app continues to work great. I now have a Pixel 7 Pro. I think a lot of the complaints are unfortunately related to the phone you are using (I know - not something easily changed). Since the developer has gone silent for several years now, there are no updates to keep up with the OS and phones. My calendar-based silencing, on the fly timer silencing, overnight silencing all work. This is an app I have used on every phone I've owned since 2019. Pixels and Samsung's. Indispensable

★★☆☆☆ This app worked brilliantly for years, but in an update I lost the ability for whitelisted groups to come through. I used to be able to whitelist favorites, but now it only whitelists groups, and it doesn't work. This just caused a huge problem when my nurse spouse had to leave work during the pandemic and race home since he could not get in touch with me by repeated texts or phone calls. Sorry, I cannot afford for that to happen again and will be uninstalling. I'm running a Motorola G6 with Android 9.
