The Snapshot app is available to Progressive customers in select states who were offered and enrolled in the mobile version of Snapshot (not the plug-in device) when they purchased their policy.
Here's how it works: the app uses the technology on your phone to help you tailor your driving. It measures your driving data, like hard braking and mileage, and gives you personalized tips on how to improve. All you have to do is keep your phone with you as you drive – the app runs in the background, so you can just set it and forget it.

I enjoy it, but definitley wish they had a way to moniter traffic in front of your vehicle, such as when you get cutoff, or another driver pulls out infront of you quickly while in traffic, to moniter those hard breaks based off a 7 MPH per second stopping variable, but overall it is a nice app

Terrible app. I can't change times when it logs me as the passenger but I'm the driver. It says I'm on my phone all the time, but I'm either not on my phone or my passenger is using my phone for directions, and there's no way to report that. The customer service people said phone usage doesn't count against you, so why record it? Especially when it's wrong. Also, the kids play games on the phone which involve shaking the phone as well as how my phone "wakes up" when locked, and this registers as hard brakes, even when I'm not driving (there are several "trips" that flat never occurred). I advised customer service, and they stated that they knew shaking the phone registers as hard brakes but there's nothing they can or will do to either fix it or allow a change.

I can't read the questions, the font is too big for my phone. I'm trying to set it up and I don't know how to get this to work because half the question is cut off. Update: I decided to uninstall and just go with the plug in since this app doesn't work. I can't see half the things it says, and I don't want to just guess.
