The Snowmobilers of Manitoba (Snoman) brings an enhanced version of its web application to your pockets, making for a better riding experience than ever. Working both with and WITHOUT mobile data coverage, you will be able to enjoy the app’s functionalities no matter where you are on the trails.
This app gives you access to the following *OFFLINE* features, anywhere, anytime, even in areas without cell coverage:
► See your location on the map through your phone’s GPS signal ► View nearby restaurants, gas stations, hotels, parking, and other services ► Access the trails conditions as per the last data connection available ► See the distance between you and a specific point ► Quickly save and load itineraries
Getting back to a zone with mobile coverage? Enjoy these additional *ONLINE* features :
► Keep an eye on updated trail statuses for the best riding experience ► Easily meet with friends by sharing your position with each other (no one else can see your location) ► Plan out an itinerary and share it with your group

Great to see trail statuses, but I don't see shelters on app, only on the web browser version. I have the paid version too. EDIT: Had to look under SEARCH to turn on more map detail.

I have been using this app for almost a year and have found it almost indispensable for planning and navigating new and complex trails away from any cell phone coverage. One has to sit down and play with it a lot at home though. The trail isn't the place to start. There is room for improvement. When using it for real time navigation, the scale is too magnified. If one zooms out the map doesn't follow you. Also, your location icon is too small to see easily when on the sled.

Why do I have to use Google Pay? Google Pay not working for me, I give up, I'll find another app that is FREE. Give it free Snowman, we pay already for surpass, include it

At first, I thought the app was great. It looks good and works at home, but when you get on the trial there is a different story. I have found it not useful at all. Every time that I look at it, it tries to update and when you have poor or no data, it gets stuck and stops. There should be a much better off-line setting that doesn't try to update or use your data. Also, you have to make sure you don't let the battery save hinder the app in any way, or it gets stuck and won't show you your map or the trials. Of course that now kills the battery. I have a Samsung S9+. My friend with an iPhone has different maps, so I wonder about cross-platform support too.
