Description
Solar Energy Forecast is a smart and easy-to-use app for anyone who owns solar panels or plans to install a solar power system. Get a clear solar forecast for today and the next days, understand how weather affects solar production, and estimate daily solar energy potential in your area.
Unlike regular weather apps, Solar Energy Forecast focuses on data that matters for solar panel generation, solar radiation, and sunny conditions.
☀️ Key features
• Daily solar energy forecast • Simple day rating: Good / Average / Weak • Hourly charts for GHI, DIF, DNI, UV index, and cloud cover • Compare actual solar resource with the potential of a clear sky day • Sun position: solar elevation and azimuth • Sunrise and sunset times • Weather risks for solar panels: wind, snow, hail, ice, thunderstorm • Search locations by city, map, or GPS geolocation • Save favorite locations for quick access
📈 Understand solar conditions better
The app helps you see how productive the day may be for your solar station, rooftop panels, home solar system, or off-grid setup. Quickly compare upcoming days and choose the best time for energy-intensive tasks.
⚡ Useful for
• Homeowners with solar panels • Solar power system owners • People planning solar installation • Off-grid users • Anyone interested in solar weather forecast and sunny conditions
📌 Important note
The kWh/m² value shows solar energy received by 1 m² of horizontal surface during the day. It is not the exact output of your solar panels. Real production depends on panel size, efficiency, tilt angle, direction, temperature, shading, and system losses.
📘 What do GHI, DNI, and DIF mean?
GHI — Global Horizontal Irradiance. It is the total amount of solar energy received by a horizontal surface: direct sunlight plus diffuse light from the sky.
DNI — Direct Normal Irradiance. It is solar energy coming directly from the sun to a surface pointed perpendicular to the sun’s rays.
DIF — Diffuse Irradiance. It is the part of sunlight scattered by clouds, the atmosphere, and particles in the air. It is especially important in cloudy or overcast weather.
🌍 Plan smarter with Solar Energy Forecast
Track solar activity, cloud cover, and expected generation with one simple app.
Recent changes: Added solar station setup: you can now specify location, panel groups, power, tilt, azimuth, and losses. When panel parameters are set, the app shows the expected station generation forecast in kWh by day and hour. The settings screen and first-start hints were also improved.
