SoundStill Notch Therapy

Tired of the constant ringing? SoundStill was built by a developer with tinnitus to provide a simple, accessible, and powerful tool for exploring notch therapy.

SoundStill helps you create notched soundscapes designed to manage the perception of your tinnitus. By identifying your specific tinnitus frequency, the app filters various sounds—from generated white noise to natural rain—to remove, or "notch out," that precise frequency. The theory, supported by peer-reviewed research, is that consistent listening may help reduce the annoyance and perceived loudness of tinnitus over time.

Key Features:

Find Your Frequency: Use our interactive tone generator to find your perceived tinnitus pitch, or manually enter a frequency provided by your audiologist.

Customizable Soundscapes: Choose from generated sounds like White, Pink, and Brown noise, or relax with natural soundscapes like Rain, Ocean waves, and Rainforest Thunderstorm.

Real-Time Notch Filtering: Our high-performance audio engine applies the notch filter to all sound sources in real-time, providing a high-quality therapeutic experience.

Adjustable Notch Width: Use the "Notch Width" setting to control whether your filter is a narrow, surgical notch or a wider, gentler one.

Track Your Progress: The private session log automatically tracks your listening history. Add ratings and notes to see your progress over time, and share a detailed HTML report with your audiologist.

100% Private: All your data, including your frequency and session log, is stored only on your device. Period. No accounts, no cloud, no data collection.

Plays in Background: Your therapy continues to play even when you switch apps or lock your screen.

Our Philosophy:
We believe a tool for tinnitus should be simple, honest, and accessible. SoundStill was built without corporate funding and contains no ads or distracting features. It's just a straightforward tool made by someone who understands the journey, in the hopes it might help others.
