Sun Position & Shadow Planner

Plan where the sun will be and estimate the shadow cast by a vertical object on a level surface.

Choose a site by entering coordinates or using foreground device location, confirm its IANA timezone, then move through the day minute by minute. See true-north sun azimuth, apparent elevation, sunrise and sunset bearings, solar noon, and a calculated shadow length and direction.

The core planner works locally and does not require an account. An optional online Google map can help place a site when configured; calculations remain available when the map is unavailable.

Your sites, labels, objects, scenarios, notes, and settings are stored locally in app-owned storage. Exports and shares happen only when you choose a destination through Android. Google Play handles purchases and restoration.

Important model limits: results are calculated astronomical estimates. Object shadows assume a vertical object on a level plane. The app does not model terrain, slope, buildings, trees, nearby obstructions, weather, cloud visibility, or magnetic heading, and is not a surveying or solar-engineering tool. Verify important plans on site.
