Great journalism! The app, audio, podcasts, and the physical magazine. Excellent deal, very informative.

Insightful and straight-forward reporting. Necessary in today's environment.

I have been reading The Atlantic for a number of years and along with the NYT, I believe I have been able to get the best news coverage available.
★★★★★Coby Coffman· Jun 6, 2026
The articles are interesting and impeccably written. It offers insight into subjects that other news outlets ignore.
★★☆☆☆Derek Kuhlman· Dec 18, 2025
Buggy/Slow audio player with lengthy ads. The audio content all begins and ends with ads anywhere from 20 seconds long to 1.5 minutes long. A 7-minute audio clip had an almost 2-minute ad for a podcast. The audio player is often unresponsive and always slow. The queue feature is buggy. The AI narration is just ok. The Economist has a similar feature set for narrated articles without ads and bugs. I shouldn't have to sit through this many advertisements for a service I already subscribe to.
★★☆☆☆Michael Burns· May 28, 2026
Horrible compared to the website. If you are reading an article, say from the current home page of the website, but want to switch to the app, good luck. You not only have a good chance of not seeing it, but the search is so bad that even if you give the apps search the exact title, it can't find it. This happens a lot, particularly with articles in The Atlantic Daily.

Refuses to believe that I have a subscription, even though it works fine on the iOS version. The Atlantic help desk is terrible, if it indeed exists; after many, many attempts to contact them with no response, I have given up. I'm probably going to end up unsubscribing because it's ridiculous that I can only read articles on one of my devices. (Please note this review is about the Android app and the Atlantic support team, not the publication itself, which is generally high quality journalism.)

I pay a lot to read this magazine, and I have to deal with way too damn many ads.
