Needs 2,4 GHz Wi-Fi to control the device, which is pretty typical. Depending on the model, connecting to assistant may give more or less control options. My type B adapter gives assistant only on/off toggle. The Toshiba app can control temperature setting, operation mode and more.

The app works fine for me, the last star could be gained by implementing an option to have a visual interface where I could point the fins in the direction I want. I would sometimes like to set it to blow air to the left, but sometimes straight. If I'm not in front of the AC manually inspecting it, I cannot set it to blow air where I want to. The only option is to activate swaying or stop it, but I'd love to be able to tell it in the app exactly where to blow the air :)

Just installed it and even the registration process failed to work. I get as far as the Terms And Conditions, check "I agree" but there's no next button, so I can't do anything else. Maybe consider some UAT, Toshiba

After a recent firmware update of the AC unit to 5.0.0 the AC can no longer automatically connect to Wi-Fi after a power cut. The Wi-Fi icon on the AC keeps blinking for hours. The fix is to manually add the AC unit to the app again (the app says it is already added) and after that it works until the next power cut.

Cannot register, only states fields are invalid. Seems that the email is deleting anything after @ in the confirmation screen
