Description by Milad Atef Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
Point the camera at a tree in a garden, a park, a street or a forest and get its common name, its scientific name and the care it needs.
WHAT ONE PHOTO GIVES YOU
• The common name, and the Latin scientific name
• A care level for this tree: Easy, Moderate or Difficult
• Light, water and hardiness, which decide where it can live
• A health read of the specimen shown, or Healthy when it is vigorous
• Mature height and spread, and how fast it grows
• Native range, with an invasive flag where one applies
• Toxicity to pets, children and livestock, in plain language
• The pests and diseases this tree is prone to
• The features that separate this species from its look-alike
THE CARE LEVEL LEADS THE RESULT
The question after the name is always what the tree needs, so the care level heads every result with light, water and hardiness beneath it. Easy means tough and forgiving once established. Moderate means careful siting or seasonal attention. Difficult means fussy about water, soil or climate.
IT SAYS OAK WHEN ONE PHOTO ONLY REACHES OAK
Many trees key only to genus from a single photo. Without fruit or flowers an oak is an oak, so the result reads Oak and Quercus sp. rather than a species picked to look precise, and the identifying features line names the second cue that would settle it. A single leaf is weak evidence and the confidence score says so.
WHAT THE LEAF AND THE BARK TELL YOU
Leaf arrangement comes first: opposite, alternate or whorled. Opposite narrows temperate trees hard, alternate rules a whole group out. Leaf type, margin and venation are cross-checked against bark texture, conifer cones, acorns, samaras, thorns and crown silhouette. Maple, oak, pine, birch, willow and ash separate on those cues, and look-alike markers are listed too: Red against Sugar Maple, Black Walnut against Tree of Heaven.
THE HEALTH READ, AND WHAT IT IS NOT
Leaf scorch, chlorosis, spotting, cankers, oozing bark, dieback, galls, defoliation, fungal brackets and borer holes are looked for, and the most likely issue is named plainly. It is an AI estimate from one photograph, not a substitute for an on-site certified arborist.
ASK ABOUT THE TREE YOU JUST PHOTOGRAPHED
Every result opens a conversation that stays on trees: leaf arrangement, separating look-alikes, symptoms and likely causes, pruning timing, establishment watering and toxicity.
YOUR SCANS, KEPT
Every identification is saved on your device with its photo, so a whole garden or street can be worked through and read back later. No account needed.
WHO IT IS FOR
• Homeowners with a tree that came with the house
• Gardeners deciding where a young tree can safely go
• Walkers, hikers and park visitors who just want the name
• Parents and pet owners checking seeds, leaves and berries
• Students and nature-study groups learning the key
HONEST ABOUT WHAT A PHOTO CAN DO
This app is an AI reading of the tree in your photo. Many trees can only be identified to genus from a single photo, and the health read is an estimate from what the camera can see, not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a certified arborist. Root and trunk problems are often invisible in a leaf shot, so have an arborist confirm before treatment or removal. Toxicity notes are general guidance: keep pets and children away from any tree you have not confirmed, and never eat or brew any part of a tree on the strength of a photo. Contact a vet or a poison control service at once if a person or an animal may have swallowed plant material.
Identification needs an internet connection. Scans you have already saved stay on your device and open again at any time.
The interface and the results are available in 33 languages.
