I had booked tickets with United, and I was hospitalized and advised by a doctor not to travel. United customer service was timely and excellent deal with. They pointed me to the website to apply for a refund. The process was easy, select why I am requesting a refund, write my rational, and upload Dr's note. Within (I believe) three business days United had reviewed and approved my refund. Thank you very much United! FYI the return flight was with American Airlines who denied my claim 😞

I already had paid for checked bags, but it wouldn't let me put that in the mobile app without making me put it in a cart, which made me think I was going to have to pay, so I didn't do it

United assigned us two separate middle seats even though we booked this trip for two travelers. The only way we could get seats together was to pay $50. What an awful way squeeze your customers.

Confusing discrepancies between booking and check in regarding checking bags. Wasn't sure if I needed to check bags and was pressured at booking to pay for them in advance. Now I don't need to check bags, but how do I get a refund? Hate these policies.

I live 20 mins from the airport and have no way to filter out options from airports from further away. Cannot filter on selected airport only. Why are you making this app worse? Why can't you add a filter for departing only from selected airport or a toggle that I want other options? For the love of God do not make flights return to airports 200 miles from home again since this started. On a round trip I want to return to my original airport.

The app is well-made. Some tactics it implements are shameful. For example the prominent "complimentary economy plus" bar. You try. It's for pay. It's a lie. You click it and the small letters say "complimentary economy plus at check in." So you wait for check in and economy plus is still for pay. You go back to this bar, and then you see oh it actually says "may be available" so united just didn't feel like making it available. Maybe they will in an hour maybe they won't. Shameful scalping.

Just check how many times I had to log in and change passwords and give access to physical location and enter phone codes and add credit cards (trying to add my united card) and scroll through different flights I'm not on just to "Check In" when the flight is still 6 hours away, and you'll hopefully get idea why this is the worst app I used this year. Nice job

They canceled our flight less the 12 hours before boarding and had to rebook a later flight. This put us at our destination 5 hrs later than we were supposed to be landing. United Airlines canceled our original flight due to weather even though there was no bad weather predicted for that airport for several hours before or after our flight was to depart.
