Older dictionaries are increasingly important at a time when powers that be are busy polluting our language with "verging" and other corrosive, debasing and nauseating trends they promote—and then normalize in subsequent dictionaries. Webster 1828 is an excellent alternative for people who realize, for example, that "gift" is not a verb except for natural or divine endowment of a power/faculty. This app is not a complete version of Webster 1828 and contains errors, perhaps even alterations.
