With locals delivers what they advertise. I've had a wonderful tour through the site, and I had to cancel a tour. Both experiences were exactly as they should be.

The price quoted per person is often not for your group size, e.g. you see a price of 100 per person for a tour, which would be expensive anyway, but that is assuming you are a group of 4, so in fact the price is 200 per person. So beware. Also the free cancelation they advertise isn't. There's always a 10% admin fee and there is no cancelation available within a week of the tour. Again, beware.

THE FACT: Commission fee for host is 20 percent. When you paid 100 USD, host only receive 80 USD. Furthermore, this app will pay host 3 weeks after the tour. It will ruin anyone cashflow who join this so-called community. When you know the ugly truth, are you still supporting this app? Use Google, FIND OTHERS if you really want to support locals 💪

Guides are getting roughly half of what guests pay in about a month after tour, but only 10% service fee is what guests are informed of (in total it's almost 40%+expenses). Overpriced tours, underpaid guides, hostile environment and no community as it states on WL page. App asks to be updated every day and support is AI-bot, but it's better as the approach to guides is cold and objectifying. Avoid it, my advice!
