Why would you let people waste Time bidding small amounts on something of higher value when you know the original price needed

2* is for my query only. 5* for customer service. Please explain to me, as regular bidder, how it is that I bid and am "chased" by other bidders that hike the price. I then lose the bid, yet the item appears again in another Auction later that week? Makes us regular bidders think that we are bidding against "ghost" bidders.
