This is an edited review since the update on the app that was released 4-27-21. After I contacted customer serv, they responded quickly and advised of the update to the app. I came home and downloaded the firmware update and everything is good. I didn't give 5 stars because the app should've never been allowed to get that quirky, and I'm not sure the problem is perm fixed. But I'm happy to be able to log into Wi-Fi and see/adjust my controller from anywhere.

Bought the Ultra for a Christmas present for myself. I was a little leery due to all the low ratings of the reviews for this app. I had previously owned a DynaQ Wi-Fi and though setting it up was a real pain, it did work great in controlling my temperature for my WSM. I installed the app and was up and running in a matter of minutes. I just wish the app would also allow you to graph without having to log in to ShareMyCook website.

Extremely disappointing app. Ultra works great while in Bluetooth range, but I wanted remote monitoring and control thus reason for buying Ultra which does not work, unfortunately. App is buggy, constantly disconnects, ultimately rendering app useless. I may be forced to return this product. Perhaps BBQ will fix this soon? I would like to compliment the Lady at BBQ GURU for providing top-notch customer service when I purchase unit, she was absolutely delightful Please fix this app!!

The app and the controller it "connects" to are pure garbage. I've owned it and argued with it for several years. The firmware updates briefly restore operation, but the default state of this system is: broken. As others have stated, it routinely drops or refuses to connect to Bluetooth. The app regularly crashes when attempting to change settings. The pit temp. Control mostly works, but lately even that will not respond to the displayed pit temp. Don't buy this system.

When I first started using this app it ran seamlessly. That was 8/2020. Now I am unable to get the Wi-Fi to connect. The Ultra controller shows that the Wi-Fi is connected but when I go to the 'Share My Cook' site it shows my device is not connected. App also only shows that controller is connected via Bluetooth. But controller shows Wi-Fi is connected. It's frustrating!
