BirdNET Live is amazing. Stick it on the table while sitting outside, and it will identify bird calls in real time. You don't even have to be quiet; it's happy identifying birds while humans are talking. The identification is quick enough that it is actually going to teach me what the bird calls are.

I used the previous BirdNET app, but I prefer this version now. I especially like the fact that it's offline, and I'm noticing a lot more since using the live detection instead of manual. I was pleasantly surprised when it detected a common field grasshopper as I thought it was only for birds. The settings are very customizable and overall it's a very well-designed app. Most of the UI feels intuitive, but I recommend using the (?) button as there's extra info. I'll be recommending this to friends

Superb app, combining the best features of Merlin and the legacy BirdNET app. IDs birds, insects, frogs etc. based on real-time or recorded audio. Works offline worldwide. Lots of possibilities for customization in the settings. This deserves to be the standard app for recording and IDing animal audio in the field.

Unfortunately, BirdNET Live doesn't work for me. The previous BirdNET app consistently detects bird sounds that the new app completely misses, even when testing the same recordings under the same conditions. I hope this can be improved in a future update.

Looks like an excellent app. However, you've missed my language (Slovene / Slovenia) for species names. In BirdNET "classic", such choice exists. Thank you for all your hard work. I am sure you will correct this deficiency shortly. I'll add 3 stars then.
