COGITO Kids ist eine kostenlose Selbsthilfe-App für Kinder und Jugendliche mit und ohne seelische Probleme. Ziel der App ist ein besserer Umgang mit Gefühlen wie Kummer, Traurigkeit, Ärger mit Freunden oder Familie. Die Übungen sollen dabei helfen, mit schwierigen Situationen besser zurechtzukommen und Selbstvertrauen aufzubauen.
Fällt es Dir manchmal schwer, um etwas zu bitten oder auch mal Nein zu sagen? Fühlst Du Dich ab und zu traurig, ohne zu wissen warum? Vielleicht hast Du Stress mit einem Freund/einer Freundin oder Deiner Familie?
Corie, Gilyaz und Tom geht es hin und wieder genauso. In kurzen Geschichten erfährst du, was ihnen in schwierigen Situationen hilft und wie sie – unterstützt von der lebenslustigen Oma Bärbel – mit negativen Gefühlen zurechtkommen. Denn klar ist: Negative Gefühle und schwierige Situationen gehören zum Leben dazu, aber es gibt auch Kniffe, die es uns leichter machen, damit umzugehen.
Corie (CO) ist ein wenig schüchtern und lässt sich von Oma Bärbel den einen oder anderen Trick zeigen, um mutiger und selbstbewusster zu werden. Gilyaz (GI) fühlt sich manchmal traurig, doch Oma Bärbel hat viele gute Ideen, die ihre Stimmung verbessern. Tom (TO) ist oft allein und hängt dann am Handy. Auch für ihn hat Oma Bärbel motivierende Vorschläge, die ihm oft dabei helfen, seine Lustlosigkeit zu überwinden. In mancher Geschichte der drei Helden (CO+GI+TO = COGITO) findest auch Du Dich vielleicht wieder und kannst Dir von Oma Bärbel ein paar Tipps abschauen.
COGITO Kids arbeitet – wie schon COGITO für Erwachsene – mit bewährten Techniken aus der kognitiven Verhaltenstherapie. Die Arbeitsgruppe E-Mental Health des Universitätsklinikums Hamburg-Eppendorf konnte in zwei kontrollierten Studien bereits zeigen, dass COGITO für Erwachsene depressive Symptome und Selbstwert signifikant (d.h. substanziell und nicht etwa durch Zufall) verbessert.
