Discovery Insure offers car insurance that rewards good driving.
Through our smartphone-enabled DQ-Track, which incorporates the Discovery Insure app and our Vitality Drive telematics device, Discovery Insure clients get real-time feedback on their driving behaviour, as well as other innovative features. Drive well to get up to R1,500 in fuel rewards every month.
To start earning your monthly fuel rewards, you must install a telematics device and link it to the Discovery Insure app. Then, activate your Vitality Drive card through our Discovery Insure app and swipe it whenever you fill up at BP or Shell. You can also get rewards on your Gautrain spend when you link your Gautrain at www.discovery.co.za.
Note: The Discovery Insure app uses location services. When you are not driving, it does not use GPS. It uses battery-efficient methods to automatically determine the start of a trip and stops detailed monitoring soon after a trip ends. The app is aware of your battery life and will not start monitoring a drive if the battery is low. Although the app has been designed to use your phone’s sensors in a battery-efficient way, running the app without a charger on long trips may drain the battery.

The app is fantastic making you a safe driver. I don't agree with some features though. 1) deducted point for phone usage when phone is not used 2) deducted points for braking when soft braking used

It does not work on my phone 😭 must say it makes you a better driver wish all the taxi's would get one then maybe we would all be better off on the toads

The insurance itself is great. The app is not to the standard of the other discovery apps, the vitality drive (trip tracker) preforms so poorly and inconsistent that I lose points every day as it stops tracking every time I stop at a robot, causing my trips to either not count, and then I lose points. I tried reaching out to discovery, but I received the same generic AI generated response over email telling me to check my settings for the app, which matches with what is required.

The app doesn't work, I have doe everything required for me to do and yet none of my trips are recording and when I contact the call center I'm told about settings which I have explained, the Bluetooth is on, location is on, data is on, and yes I have disabled the battery saver, and yes I open the app and then allow it to run in the background, weird part is I get a notification from the app on my phone to notify that a trip is in progress and yet the app it's self doesn't record the trip...
