Description
Remote control for your Big Green Egg! Remotely manage and monitor cooking temperatures, monitor the temperature of your food, view graphs of your cooks and receive alerts when your cook is finished or when the EGG temperature is too high or low.
The EGG Genius app works with an EGG Genius WiFi Temperature Controller to: • Control the device through your smartphone, tablet or computer to remotely manage and monitor the internal temperature of the EGG • Monitor the temperature of your food; view graphs of your cooks • Receive alerts when your cook is finished or when the EGG temperature is too high or low • Quickly reach your desired cooking temperature as the blower ramps up to fan the lighted charcoal; once the desired temp is reached, the variable speed blower automatically adjusts the blower speed to optimize the set temperature. • Automatically lowers the pit temperature to keep your food warm when the cook is complete. • Detects the sudden temperature drop from opening the dome and turns the fan off temporarily to avoid over-stoking the fire. • In the case of a power outage, the unit continues running at the saved set temperature and reconnects to the WiFi network automatically when power returns. • Use up to 3 meat probes at once – additional meat probes with Y-cable can be purchased separately. • Powered by Flame Boss®

I have had a love hate relationship with the genius for a few years now. The initial release of the software was extremely error-prone, and I would spend at least an hour resetting the device every time I tried to use it. Initially, I gave this a horrible review. Several software updates have been released attempting to address the issues. It looks like they are making progress. When this works, it works extremely well. It is a game changer for the BGE. Thank you flame boss for paying attention.

Works as intended. One of the best accessories for the BGE, especially for extremely long cooks. Four stars only because the button to copy the link to the cook on the website doesn't work. Have to go find the cook manually with my device ID.

Does a great job of controlling temperature. Love the charting functionality. An android widget showing pit temp, probe temp, and fan output would be amazing.

App works, but I can't even set a meat temp. Trying to enter 155, app tells me to enter a number between 150-230. It's not like meat temp matters for BBQ, right? C'mon BGE, do better!

My egg control was working then somehow I got this update automatically. It uses Bluetooth but my old egg "genius" device has Wi-Fi. Also the new version is just a blank screen on my phone oh yeah, and now I've lost 5 years of cook history and have to run manually on a 24 hour smoked pork. Did I mention that I never needed an update and my device had Wi-Fi not Bluetooth... that's not a setting? I wish I could do zero stars.
