Setting it up and getting the whole family was very easy. My only issue is that there is no integration with Android Auto. So while message notifications pop up on my phone and Pixel Watch, I don't get them on my car. Would be nice to be able like with SMS for Android Auto to read out the message and be able to use voice to reply/send messages to my kid.

My son is in his second year with his smart watch--and we both think it hits a sweet spot by allowing limited connectivity, while not opening up Pandora's box (the way a phone or even an Apple Watch would). He got it for his 10th birthday, a year and a half ago.

Love this! We have had the watch for 2 years. We had a glitch once over a year ago, but worked through it by resetting thr watch. No issues ever since. Reliable, good battery (1 full day), and makes contacting my kid a breeze

Bought for my 6th grader and has been perfect for us. She'd had Ace 2 for years & took good care of it. She likes that Ace LTE looks sophisticated (like adult Fitbit or Pixel watch), but has games & allows her to communicate w us. I like seeing where she is when she takes the bus, etc. The developers seem responsive so far & continue to add new features. We're planning to use this instead of a phone through middle school. I wish I could see on the app when my kiddo sets her watch on DND.

Update: still behaves badly 2026. It shows child location on a map but not the user's, unlike Google Maps, which shows both. However, child location updates are often delayed—up to 30 minutes on Fitbit and Google Maps. For a cellular device, this is disappointing, especially during critical moments like bus stop pickups. Additionally, I've received "device off wrist" alerts while the child was wearing it. Does not work outside the USA or on Wi-Fi. I regret the purchase, Apple Watch is superior.

Update: Google rolled out Wallet balance for kids. Can't use it on the Ace LTE. You're forced to buy a third party kids bank account. Google already has Google Voice, Chat, Messages, etc. there was no need to reinvent the wheel. I should be able to use an allowlist to add approved contacts. Watches should be tied to their Google accounts to use Chat & Voice. Forcing contacts to install this app hurts as kids can't connect with their friends.
