FocusGate: Screen Time Control

Stop doomscrolling. Start doing.

You open Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Reddit for “just a second.” Then 40 minutes disappear. FocusGate helps you pause before distractions and put your real priorities first.

FocusGate is a mindful screen time app built around redirection, not punishment. Instead of hard lockouts by default, it creates a small intentional pause before you open the apps that pull you off track.

Create Focus Gates with personal tasks, reminders, breathing resets, and check-ins. When you reach for a distracting app, FocusGate steps in with what matters first, then lets you choose.

Focus Gates: Put Your Priorities First

Create custom gates for the apps that pull you off track. Add reminders like:

“Did you finish that report?”
“Have you called Mom back?”
“Drink some water first.”
“Stretch before you scroll.”

With FocusGate you can:
• Choose which apps to gate
• Set schedules for weekdays, weekends, or custom hours
• Add task prompts before selected apps open
• Use breathing exercises before you scroll
• Build Focus Momentum as you complete what matters

Doomscroll Check-Ins

Already lost in a scroll session? FocusGate can step in mid-session too.

Set custom check-in intervals so FocusGate reminds you to pause, breathe, and decide whether you still want to keep scrolling. Instead of relying only on willpower, you create small moments of awareness that bring you back to yourself.

A Smarter App Blocker

Most screen time tools focus on restriction. FocusGate works differently.

• No hard lockouts by default
• No guilt-based design
• No generic timers without context
• A clear pause before impulse becomes autopilot

FocusGate is useful for social media overuse, late-night scrolling, endless news checking, impulsive app switching, and ADHD-style attention drift.

Track Your Progress

Changing habits is easier when you can see momentum building.

FocusGate includes:
• Focus Score based on gates completed, breaks taken, and check-ins honored
• Screen time reporting and usage insights
• Top Disruptors to show which apps steal the most time
• Progress tracking over days, weeks, and months

Instead of only showing what went wrong, FocusGate shows what is improving.

Built for Daily Life

Use FocusGate for:
• Reducing doomscrolling
• Staying focused at work or school
• Interrupting autopilot phone use
• Being more present with family
• Building healthier digital habits
• Turning distraction into a moment of clarity

Most screen time apps are built around restriction. FocusGate is built around redirection.

Not a punishment. A gate.
Not guilt. Momentum.
Not just less scrolling. More of what matters.

Download FocusGate and take back the moment before distraction wins.

Accessibility API Disclosure

FocusGate uses the Android AccessibilityService API to detect when you open apps that you have selected for monitoring. This allows FocusGate to show your Focus Gate, task prompt, breathing reset, or check-in screen at the right moment.

FocusGate uses AccessibilityService only for its core focus features:
• Detecting when a selected gated app is opened
• Showing an intentional pause before that app continues
• Triggering check-ins during app use based on your settings
• Helping redirect attention toward tasks, breaks, and mindful use

FocusGate does not use AccessibilityService to read private messages, capture passwords, collect typed text, access financial information, or monitor unrelated activity outside the focus features you enable. You control which apps are gated and whether AccessibilityService is enabled.
