I completed very detailed in depth research to move my pension to a low fee self-managed platform it came down to two choices Interactive Investor or A J Bell, both a very good but Interactive Investor just edged it on fees, future flexibility of the platform, and I found their documentation and explanation of fees now and any future pension fees more clear a d concise

Very easy to trade and see holdings. I have multiple accounts (trading, ISA, two junior ISAs) which are all managed through the one login. Trading features are complete enough for my needs (Buy, Sell, Limit to buy/sell, UK and US markets, funds). One helpful feature is that displays your average for that holding, so you don't have to work it out yourself. I'd love for it to have a widget for my home screen to display up-to-date prices. I have to use a different app for that at the moment

This app no longer runs on my phone (running Android 12). It gets into a loop redisplaying the login page, even though the login has succeeded. The support staff responded quickly when I contacted them via the secure message page (on another device), but have not been able to fix the app - they advised me to use the desktop website on my phone while they look into it. The website actually has more information than the app, though it needs a lot of scrolling to use on my phone screen.

So full of bugs that I almost want to pay more money elsewhere. It bounces me from the app to the browser for login, then says "you should use our app, it's better" - but then when I click to return to the app (now logged in) it opens the app and forces me to login again, back to browser, and the merry-go-round continues. Eventually, I'm in. but while trying to transfer funds into ISA, I can't go to my Lloyds app and bank to ii, because it resets the entire form I'm filling out. Arrghh

I transferred my pension to II, the process took about 4 months. Through the transfer, they repeatedly confirmed that they would keep my chrysalises / unchristalised pot separate, so I can trade / withdraw money from my ot as I like. So I can withdraw from my uncrystallized account tax fre However, as soon as the transfer completed they apologized and said all the pension would be in the same pot (mixed) and I can trade / withdraw cash from the mix pot (no choice in terms of which pot).

Graphs are worst of the bunch, fx rate poor, monthly cost high, news and share fundamentals data limited. Designed for those moving from cash savings to owning utilities. Do offer etb's which is a plus if you want access
