iOptron Commander Lite is not reliable and crashes repeatedly under all sorts of conditions and circumstances. One of the more annoying things is that crashes if you switch to another app (like checking a compass or the time), so that you have to kill it and restart. Unfortunately Commander Lite is the only way to send your time/date/location information to a Sky Hunter mount, or manage the Zero Position when in Alt-Az mode. Otherwise, I ditch it in favor of Sky Safari Pro--which connects easy!

No stars. I have a GEM45 mount with an iStarFi Wi-Fi dongle. I installed the app on a Samsung S9 smartphone. I have the dongle running is AP+SP mode. I can connect to the mount in either mode. The only functionality I have is controlling the mount. This app is totally useless. Installing and testing this app was a complet waste of my time. You all need to get a clue: Leave Wi-Fi connectivity to others and stick to building mounts.

The app crashes constantly, requiring a restart and often re-zeroing. The slew controls won't work, requiring the "button" to be held down for some time for the mount to move at any speed. This often creates a backlog of commands given that then issue to the mount all at once, so the scope slews wildly. Then the app crashes again.
