Markdown Reader & Editor

Markdown Reader & Editor is a focused tool for creating, reading, and editing Markdown files directly on your Android device. Whether you are taking notes, drafting documentation, or keeping a personal journal, you get a clean writing space and an accurate live preview.

All of your files stay on your device. There is no cloud sync and no account required, so you can start writing right away.

- Create new Markdown files or open existing ones (.md, .markdown)
- Edit, save, import, export, and share your files
- Switch between Edit and Preview modes, or use the optional split view to see both at once
- Unsaved-changes protection helps you avoid losing work

A handy toolbar puts common formatting one tap away:
- Headings, bold, and italic
- Quotes, links, and inline code
- Bullet lists, numbered lists, and checkboxes

See your document the way it is meant to look. The preview supports:
- Headings and nested lists
- Tables and block quotes
- Links and images
- Code blocks with formatting
- Interactive checkboxes

The home screen keeps everything organized:
- Search to quickly find a file
- A file list showing name, last modified date, and size
- Create a new file or import an existing one
- Rename, duplicate, delete, and share files

- Built with Material 3 design
- Light, dark, and system themes
- Copy the Markdown source or plain text whenever you need it

Your files are stored locally on your device. The app does not require an account and does not sync to the cloud.

The app is free to use and is supported by ads.
