Decent just don't get a red journey, or they will charge you more monthly, the insurance isn't the best but the black box and the app are really easy to use and connect to and understand. For under 20-year-olds I recommend it to get the black box insurance. The black box tells you how to improve in areas such as braking cornering accelerating and phone distraction so great for new drivers

Such a great app and black box tracking system for learners and 1st te drivers.

Very good app. It's very easy to use, and it certainly keeps you on your best behavior, which is its main purpose. I am not the learner driver, but once my son passes his test, this app gives me peace of mind as I will be able to check his score/driving behavior and where he has been.

It certainly makes you think about your driving. The only problem is other people. The app doesn't care why you're braking hard and that can be annoying losing your chance for full marks.

The recorder doesn't connect to my phone very quickly, meaning I have to spend several minutes sat in the car before every journey until it tells me it has connected (on which note, why isn't there a manual "connect" button in the app? Seems like a complete design failure to me). Then when it is connected, it randomly cuts out the recording during drives, including while I was doing 60-70mph - so not because I've stopped temporarily and then set off again. This means I have several journeys logged on the app where the device has stopped recording and missed large sections of driving - my Mum has also had the same problem. Both of our phones are up-to-date smartphones, which reliably pick up GPS when using other apps such as the sports tracking app Strata, and are not on power saving mode, etc. On which note, why doesn't the box itself provide the GPS connection and do the recording, and then sync through your phone to upload? You could still monitor phone use with the app connected via Bluetooth, just without having to rely on the driver turning on location when they want to go anywhere. The app itself is awful - it's slow, spams you with unnecessary notifications, drains battery, and then takes hours (literally!) to give you a score. It also seems to lose bits of drives it has recorded; for example yesterday it told me a drive of 4.8miles had been recorded (which should actually have been 10mi or two parts of 5mi...), except when the app finished scoring it now only shows 2.2mi. Also, worryingly, the app has plotted routes on some journeys that I did not take. It looks as if it has found two points on my drive, and then joined them by the most convenient road, completely missing that it is a large deviation (2 miles) from the route I actually took. On another drive it has plotted me having flown cross-country in a perfectly straight line, completely missed the point where I briefly stopped, and then randomly ended somewhere 5 miles from where I actually finished. If use of this app and black box setup is needed to ensure your insurance cover, then it needs to actually work! The app has a large proportion of 1* reviews, and the vast majority of the other reviews are critical in some way. Considering how expensive insurance for young drivers is, it's rubbish that you can't even provide a functioning app. The policy states that you may not be insured if you don't have the app running - but if it won't connect, or cuts out mid-drive, how are you supposed to use it? You can't keep stopping every 2 miles to check it's working - and sometimes it appears to be and then loses all the data later. If you're considering purchasing this insurance, please do not. The slightly cheaper price is not worth the hassle...

Ok, but with bugs but would still recommend. Sometimes, says phone Was used whilst driving when wasn't, now app has stopped counting trips, which is important as car owner has to do more trips the named driver on this policy.

Really awful. I am driving, my daughter passenger. Records her phone use. As a result score is terrible When I mark myself as driver the phone use stays. Doesn't record all trips. Marked down for emergency braking when someone walks out Just ridiculous. Hard cornering on same roundabout EVERY time despite going so slow I am. Nearly stopped. Terrible app.
