Description
MitID is your digital ID. You use it when you want to log in, sign digitally and approve actions in various self-service solutions. If you need to approve on your mobile or tablet, you do it with a single swipe in the app. To authenticate on your computer, scan a QR code.
Activate your MitID You can activate your MitID in your app by scanning your passport/ID card or with an activation code from Borgerservice. If you have a new mobile, you can copy your MitID from your old app.
In the app you can also... View or change your user ID, change the mobile number you use for MitID, block or reactivate MitID, approve with a button instead of a swipe, or choose the app in multiple languages.
Have a spare MitID Having an extra MitID is a good idea. If you happen to lose your mobile with the app on it, you can still use MitID. Read here how to do it: MitID.dk/reserve

The App itself works fine on certain devices. But if you want to use it on a much more secure device rather than your typical apple/android phone, MITIC will just flat out block you from doing so on activation. I use Graphene OS.

Google has removed my review when the rating of this government issued app was 2.8 on the Google Play Store, allegedly for it including political commentary, which my review did not contain by the English definition. I try again with objectively sourced info: -Persons entering Denmark are obliged to use this app -This app is 100% funded by taxpayers -This app does not disclose its database vendors and data resale policies -This all does not disclose results of its data privacy audits

Errors more often than not, getting worse. Used to generally work, here in 2026 I usually find it blocks me from doing anything with repeated Error messages and no assistance or help faq of any sort. Rarely able to communicate with the Danish state and tax systems. On rare occasions it works long enough to confirm that I still have a bank account. But if I have emergency need of it, it consistently fails
