Modemix – Bike & Train

Modemix is the navigation app for cyclists: combine cycling with public transit and find safe cycling routes.

Modemix provides two key differences compared to other navigation apps:
(1) Multimodal transit directions that combine bike with public transit. Modemix navigation algorithm enables cycling between stations, not just to and from them. Find the optimal route. Modemix is the navigation app with the fastest transit routes.
(2) Modemix is the safest cycling navigation app for cyclists and other micromobility users (scooter, skateboard, etc.). Modemix bike directions significantly prioritize safe bicycle routes. We consider the type of bike infrastructure and the popularity of the route among cyclists when creating the cycling routes. We also present the breakdown of what percentage of the road is on safe vs. unsafe infrastructure.

The underlying idea for our app is that trains are epic because they don't get stuck in traffic like cars. However, trains suffer from the "last mile problem." Your origin or destination may be a couple miles away from the nearest station. Modemix fixes this problem.

Simply bike to and from the train station. This eliminates bus connections to rail, which are slow and inconvenient. Bikes don't get stuck in traffic.

The app is rapidly becoming available worldwide. We're currently scaling. Areas without trains are supported as well; buses, ferries, and all other types of transit are supported in Modemix. Please check our website to see which regions are currently supported (or download and check in the app).
