Comments on Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox for Android

I'm using this app because it allows you to download more than a few months of email. All other apps I tried to restrict this. It has a unified inbox but really wish it had a unified sent items / sent messages. Also, wish I could set reply all as the default - I keep replying to only the sender.

★★★★☆ DNB Revolution · Sep 10, 2026

Dear Devs, I would love to see an option to select all emails from the same sender only. Imagine that I want to clean my inbox from all emails from one sender. I could select one mail from that sender, and on the dots' menu, I would have an option like "select all from this sender". Thanks

Finally moved from ad-infested Gmail app to Thunderbird.

Now works on phone all email accounts work keep up the good work 🙂

1. For IMAP mail the app doesn't sync labels that were applied after the app downloaded the email. You check mail with this app, then your desktop email client applies filters and shuffles emails into their folders, then you refresh in the app again - all emails stay in one heap of Inbox. 2. The app refuses to sync folders unless you sync them manually one by one. 3. For decades, Thunderbird team had been refusing to implement export/import of filters. Now they don't even have filters in app.

Horrible Mail App. Even with advanced settings the search function is useless. Used this useless client for a bit personal and work and it's a disaster for both accounts. One just stopped syncing all together.

★★☆☆☆ David Scheiber · Sep 10, 2026

I just want an email client that works :(is that too much to ask? I switched to Thunderbird because Gmail would fail to send messages lock up and crash way too often. But it turns out Thunderbird has its own set of problems, the search function straight up doesn't work, and sometimes it will fail to send messages and will not give me any feedback and why the message failed to send.
