Too bad about the low number! It's my daily go-to news aggregator. Love the layout, easy to navigate. Original and well-linked content. The ads load in their own space and don't move the text around like most web pages do. Pop-ups are rare and easily closed. I hope they make a go of it because I really don't want to go back to what I was using before...

Update 2/1/2021: I previously gave an honest and detailed review, and they listened! As they responded, my earlier issues seem to have been vastly improved, so I'm back! Thank you Newser! But beware: if it deteriorates I'll update again! 😉 I loved the old version, but the new version is awful. The ads take over the screen and cause lag. Backing out of an article is slow and doesn't return to the same place from where you were before reading the article. Going to uninstall.

I used to enjoy reading the stories on this App. But this newest version is full of pop-up animated Ads which are so intrusive that they constantly distract from reading the stories and comments. Because of this, I have uninstalled this App.

UPDATE 10/26/22: the ads are back in full force yet again. UPDATE 2/8/22: After the Newser team responded saying they updated the app to have fewer ads I gave it another shot. The invasive ads are gone, and it's a great place to get my news. Original: The ads that pop up have gotten out of hand. I enjoy reading the articles on here but Christ it's gotten to where you can't click on the article due to the ads.

I used to love this app then they changed forced you to download a new app that was filled with soo much garbage ads that it was getting harder and harder to sift through. Now I can't even read any new stories because it wants me to disable the pop-up blocker to be harassed me even more. After using this app for 5+ years I'm deleting it.

This new app is terrible. Might as well just look online at news articles as there are so many ads and loading lags that there is no advantage to having it in app format. Congratulations on ruining a great thing, Newser.
