Do you have the skills and nerves to push exhausted Wehrmacht forces to the key city of Avranches through the fierce Allied resistance and numbing bombardment to cut off two US armies breaking out from Normandy while German flanks are crumbling all around you?
Scenario mechanics: The player controls few Resource Depots (located on the right edge of the map), which allow requesting various resources as per operational needs.
Situation on August 7, 1944: British and Canadian troops had tied down elite German formations near Caen while the entire US Third Army had broken through from Normandy to Brittany via the city of Avranches.
However, German HQ realized that by advancing mere 30 km (20 miles) from Mortain to Avranches, they could cut off the First and Third US Army. Highly Tempting! Yet not realistic considering the massive Allied superiority both in supply and air power. But a go order was given. Into the fire.
This was a lot to ask from weary German units, but this was the absolutely last chance to contain the Allied landings in the Normandy area, maybe even pushing the Allies back into the ocean, and ultimately change the course of the war.
Surely throwing eight battle-hardened Panzer divisions against a small sector of the front line could push it forward a short distance of 30 km? In addition, the Germans committed all their Luftwaffe reserves to this undertaking, named Operation Lüttich.
The Allies realized that if they could contain this last German attempt to take the initiative in Normandy and swing around the American forces that had broken through, they might be able to encircle the 7th German Army and the Fifth Panzer Army in the Falaise area.
The only thing was sure: At the end of this maneuvering, either several German or American armies would be cut off, and that side would suffer losses measured in hundreds of thousands of men—a scale so far unprecedented on the Western Front of WWII.

Best game yet from Joni! Fun game that is about as challenging for an abstract strategy game as you will find for a phone. Based on actual units and an actual battle from WWII. It gives you a chance to see if different strategies had created different outcomes. Is it 100% accurate? Of course not. It has to be somewhat balanced to make the game challenging and entertaining. Joni did a great job with this one. Highly recommend it!

Balancing act. I have a bunch of Joni's games and really enjoyed this addition. A blend of offensive and defensive strategies in different areas of the theater and trying to advance the center without your flanks collapsing was a real challenge!

Love your games was going to buy them all owned many on this account and on accounts I've lost since 2016. Please get rid of the update. It makes the game impossible to move armies. Im sorry to say it ruined the game.
