I'm enjoying this app, because I didn't want to migrate to Google Messages, and this gives me what I want: a basic messenger and no AI. I would give it 5 stars, but my biggest issue is that the app can't keep group messages together. It sends it as individual messages to each recipient, which can get very confusing if there's people you don't know suddenly receiving a single disjointed message. If this could be addressed, I'd absolutely bump it to 5. Edit 7/16/26: fixed the group messaging! 5 ⭐

🔵 EDIT The latest version (1.9.0) often fails to pick up the contact name from Ossify Contacts, leaving me with a list of numbers. Real backward step from a previously faultless performance. Uninstalled, then reinstalled older version which successfully re-established the link with Contacts Simple, clear, fast messaging app without ads or bloat. No trackers. Light on resources. Android 17

Don't expect more than strictly texts. No matter what restrictions you put on resizing MMS, photos and gifs, won't send. I haven't had any issue sending texts, regardless of size. But, lacking 50% of the functionality this app is supposed to have is more than enough grounds to ditch it.

I can not find a place to contact you. I like the app, but I can not get a group message of 2 to work. Certainly this is a functional feature.

Aggravating. Messages that have been sent to one contact show up later than unsent under another contact, and it can't be deleted, when you try it goes to wrong contact.
