Community seems dead. Created a request and invited quite a few different sitters but no one seems to reply. The top recommendations showing up on the app is from sitters that had their last feedback a long time ago, so probably inactive for some time. I thought Pet backer was an alternative to Rover, but sadly it seems to have the potential but not the people.

I've been using Pet Backer for about a month or so, and I haven't gotten a single client. All I got are scammers, trying to exchange phone numbers to communicate via text or WhatsApp, and trying to pay you through Belle/PayPal. They all say the same thing "It's my first time I don’t know how to do it." Twice, after refusing to communicate through other platforms, and refusing to accept payments outside Pet Backer, my account got restricted due to their useless AI bots monitoring the chats.

Waste of time really, I've responded to probably more than 50 jobs and only one has actually responded and come through. Their fees are ridiculous and on top of that I had to wait almost 2 months for my payment to come through after repeated messages to them complaining and on top of that had to pay PayPal fees because they don't give you any other option to receive payment. Literally a waste of time. Mad Paws is a much better app.
