Once an original paper is accepted by a peer reviewed subscription journal, even the author has no access to their own paper, unless they pay. Note: this app is only for active researchers, and you are required to be able to verify that you are attached to a recognized institution. But the initial information suggests you can be independent. I am retired, and I enjoy reading peer reviewed papers, and I use R/gate a lot via their website, as a visitor. The website is excellent. Hopefully they will have a membership class for the many people researching topics for accurate information which is one of R/gates core aims

There is no option to add research. You have to go to the website to add your research, so what's the point of this app?

Access locked behind the gate. Limiting access to research to academics only is exactly what's wrong with our society! Everyone should be allowed to learn and access research, which is most often publicly funded anyway without being academic themselves.
