Description
This application is designed to provide up to date information about bush fire data in the state of South Australia, Australia for users of Android devices.
It utilises data from the South Australia Country Fire Service data feeds on fires with your current location provided by the phone GPS. This application DOES NOT represent any government organisation.
Using this information the application is able to provide a list of fires showing the nearest ones first, helping you to understand your current situation.
The information is reliant on both the accuracy of the phone's GPS and the data recorded on the CFS's website.
This application does not cache any data, so Internet access (either Wireless. or 3G) is required to access the data.
Be aware that while P4G has utilised "best efforts" to provide this information to you, it is not intended to replace other sources of information on the fire situation near you. Also remember that fire and weather can change quickly.
If you use watch zones then it is possible that the application will store your current location at that time. This information is not correlated with any other user data, and can be deleted at any time. Please check the privacy policy at https://www.p4g.biz/app-privacy-policy.

It's currently the best fire alert app than what is available atm, but it needs more options to choose what kind of notification you want to hear about e.g. Fires in watch zone not every tree down in the zone in a 20 km area

Easy to use and reliable. During recent fires in SA all notifications came through when needed and updated accordingly. Only thing that would be good to add is the colored watch and emergency zones like in the cfs website and the fire maps which would eliminate switching between multiple pages and apps. Watch zones disappear randomly too?

Good functional app. However, definitions do not cover all the icons that appear on the map. Eg satellite icons, warning icons.

Next to useless if you want to set up a watch zone!!! NSW RFS app is fantastic for NSW. Thus, app is useless for SA!!

This app was recommended to me as a good alternative to the Alert SA app that spectacularly crashed on the first catastrophic fire danger rated day of the summer. I set up a 25 km alert zone around my house and have had exactly zero alerts in the 24 hours since download. Also, can't set up a proximity alert around my current location without doing it manually every time I'm wondering if a fire is nearby... That kinda defeats the purpose of alerts. Looks like I'm continuing my search.
