Description by ExpertFlyer.com(from Google Play)
You've booked a trip to your favorite getaway but the plane is full and you're stuck in the middle seat, sound familiar? Let Seat Alerts® by ExpertFlyer help find you a better seat in 3 easy steps:
1. Look up the Seat Map of your flight. 2. Set up a Seat Alert to find window seats, aisle seats and more. 3. Get notified if your preferred seat is found.
Seat Alerts will monitor the available seats right up until the flight departs. If it becomes available you can change your seat when your Seat Alert notification arrives, just contact the airline or the travel agency that booked your ticket. Seat Alerts finds a window or aisle seat better than 75% of the time.
• With a Free account, you can set up one Free Seat Alert at a time using the Any Seat, Any Window or Any Aisle options. *Other advanced alert options require a fee.* • Seat maps include SeatGuru® seat ratings so you know which seat is the right seat for you. Just click on a seat to see its rating and review. • If you need multiple Seat Alerts at the same time, additional alerts and alert options are available for purchase. • Supports over 140 airlines that have preassigned seating. • Miles Award or Upgrade searching and alerting is not the same as Seat Map searching and alerting. This app is Seat Map Alerts only. For Miles Awards & Upgrades, please use our website.
• If you have questions about using the app, please email us first or see the in-app FAQ page.

Notes about app functionality: • Account registration is required to use the Seat Alert app, this is so we can notify you of found seats and keep track of your alerts across devices. • Seat Alerts checks the seat maps several times a day. If you find and take an open seat before the next check of the alert, you won't be notified. • Also works with ExpertFlyer.com Basic and Premium subscriptions to manage your Seat Alerts. • To prevent abuse, a limited about of seat maps can be viewed each day, resetting every 24 hrs. Only a single seat map search is needed to create a Seat Alert.
Note: Physical seat availability has nothing to do with Award, Upgrade, or fare ticket inventory. Please read our FAQ for more information: http://www.expertflyer.com/expertflyer-support-faq

Comments on Seat Alerts by ExpertFlyer for Android
★★★★★
Good app. Very useful

Service works as described and has saved me from sitting in a middle seat several times. App UI feels a little dated and can probably use a design refresh. Would be great if the user experience was improved a little, like add favorite airports selection to the profile personalization area. Maybe even validate date + airline + flight number using publicly available data first, so that airport pairs can just be selected from returned results if needed. Just a suggestion, not a complaint...

It works! Saved me from a middle seat. Although United sucks and charged $32 for an aisle. But the service great. You don't need the app, the alert came via email. Im not sure it alerted on my phone.
★★☆☆☆
I paid the $0.99 service to get seat alerts and received a delayed notification after I found my own seats (hours after they were available). Strangely enough, I received the notification after I wrote a 1-star review which was a couple of hours after I found my own seats (this is an updated review with 2-stars). Glad that I checked manually and was able to get the seats on my own. If there's high demand for seats and they go away quickly, this app won't help you. Also very rude developer, not humble at all. (Look at all the replies from customers reviews). Instead of saying that he'll add more details to the app features to clarify everyone how often the app checks for seat availability, he engages in hand combat with each reviewer and try to prove his way, instead of apologizing for not meeting expectations. It should say, that it checks seats every 6 or 8 hours. Customer sets expectations, not developers and if there is misalignment there should be more info added to the app (caveats, disclaimers, etc). Good luck with that attitude, if you change your approach to how you treat feedback, you'll have better ratings, otherwise it leaves a bad experience from beginning to end.

I have registered with my Facebook account. Facebook login is not available in the app. I can't login with the app. Minor yer super important detail. So stupid!

i used a real email address, ensured spam filter situation was set, waited patiently and went directly to the website to re-send the verification key 2 additional times and never received it. i really wanted it to work, because i didn't want to receive an angry response like everyone else.

Tried logging in through facebook. Got the spinning loading wheel for several minutes. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Tried again. Required an email address. The verification email never arrived. Could not log in and could not use. Please stop requiring an email and extra verification to use an app, that likely will be used once before getting uninstalled.
