Simpulan: Untangle Debts

Simpulan helps a trusted group reduce obligations that form a loop.

Imagine Alex owes Jordan, Jordan owes Priya, and Priya owes Alex. If every record is agreed by both people, the same amount can be removed from each obligation. Nobody sends money, nobody receives a payout, and nobody’s net position changes.

HOW IT WORKS

Create one closed clearinghouse with one currency, then invite people you already know. Pair directly with each person whose obligations you want to record. Every new record must be approved and cryptographically signed by both people before it can be considered for clearing.

When Simpulan finds a safe cycle, each participant sees only the two changes that involve them. The clearing happens only after every person in that cycle signs the exact same proposal. If anyone declines or does not respond, nothing changes.

WHAT THE SERVICE CAN SEE

• Readable names, exact amounts, dates, notes, and commitment openings stay on participating devices.
• Recovery copies are encrypted before upload with a code the service never receives.
• The clearing service receives pseudonymous member identifiers, signatures, cryptographic commitments, and coarse amount bands.
• You see only obligations that directly involve you—not a group-wide debt ledger.
• There are no public profiles, scores, rankings, or reliability labels.

BUILT FOR CLEAR AGREEMENT

• Record who owes whom, the amount, date, and an agreed reason.
• Keep an optional encrypted note shared only between the two participants.
• Review and decline one-sided proposals before they become active.
• See your standing, netted person by person.
• Review a local, tamper-evident activity history.
• Recover encrypted records on a replacement device with a private recovery code.
• Report inappropriate content and block a person from any relevant record.

WHAT SIMPULAN DOES NOT DO

Simpulan is not a bank, wallet, payment processor, lender, collector, credit bureau, or debt-settlement service. It never moves, holds, lends, or collects money. It charges no interest or fees and does not judge whether anyone is trustworthy or late.

Simpulan is intended for adults who already know and trust one another. A clearing is arithmetic backed by everyone’s signature—not a payment and not proof that an obligation is legally enforceable.
