Pretty decent app, especially for a young company. Much better than other grill control apps I've tried, and by a fair sight. My only complaint is that, if I do not have the app actively open, the temperatures will not be plotted in the app. You can look on the grill interface itself, but that's not nearly as interactive. Overall, UI could use a face-lift if you're into that, but does everything it says it does, except as mentioned.

New firmware to make device not tell me to close vent every time I change the temperature. It's not necessary to have it remind me every time not to mention it takes a few seconds for that notification to disappear before I can actually change the temperature. It's kind of annoying when you have to deal with that every time.

I've been using it now for about three months for low temperature cooks, and it holds temp. Pretty well. I just started off with a few hot charcoal and then pile on some Unlit Natural Lump Charcoal on top to one side and start. The new update adding a pause button definitely made it much better before I had to turn temp all the way down before opening the lid. So far, I'll not have any connection problems with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. It makes it easy. Overall, I'm happy with it

The app is difficult to pair with the Venom controller. When I do get it pair I have to constantly reconnect to get current temperatures. And, the Venom controller will drop the pairing. The controller is excellent. Everything I hoped for when I bought it. The is not as good.

I love my Spider Venom but this app is super unreliable. I wish they would put the same attention to detail in the app as the hardware. It constantly has connection issues and with no rhyme or reason

App is bad, hardware is phenomenal. I've been using this for over a year and the same issues despite working with their support (who is very responsive). Like others on here. Every time I go to cook I have to go through the pairing process. I'm assuming it's because of mesh Wi-Fi home networks causing issues. Still pretty unacceptable for this day and age. They should find a workaround. On the hardware side, I hate the delay then you go to set a temperature, and it takes 4 seconds to warn to close
