Redo the graphics seriously. Just unplayable as it is right now. Taking 10 hits per level against wall because your wall graphics don't feel like you're facing the wall is just annoying. And offset every enemy graphics, creating a new one in-between or up close. It never feels like you're one step away from bats with their 1-tile away graphics, but feels like 2 instead...
