Description

Ringing, buzzing, roaring, clicking, and hissing are words which can be used to describe tinnitus, the perception of sound in your ear(s) or head when no external sound is present. While there is no cure for tinnitus, treatment options such as sound therapy and counseling can provide relief.

The Starkey Relax app is an informational resource and self-management tool, which is intended for incorporation into a hearing professional’s sound therapy protocol for patients diagnosed with tinnitus. Sound therapy uses sound to decrease the loudness or prominence of tinnitus.

Starkey Relax allows you to customize 12 relief sounds by modifying the volume, frequency response, and rate of fluctuation, providing you with highly-personalized relief sounds for your unique tinnitus. With Starkey Relax, you can create new, customized relief sounds coupled with soothing images to best suit the changing behavior of your subjective tinnitus.

You can play Starkey Relax relief sounds through your Android device or any connected speaker/headphone. You can also stream the relief sounds from your 900sync hearing aids (via the SurfLink Mobile device) from Starkey, Audibel, NuEar, MicroTech, and AGX Hearing.

★★★★★ I've had profound, disabling tinnitus for 17 years. I find the bird sounds to be very relaxing and good sound therapy. Thank you, Starkey!!

★★★★★ For those who don't know, this is a high-end sound machine. I have three very expensive stand-alone sound machines that use various means to adjust the intensity of the sound emitted. This Starkey app works MUCH BETTER because I am able to adjust the sounds to the level of tinnitus (loud ringing) in my ears, suffered due to combat (lots of grenades, 50 cal, shotguns, M16, M60, etc.) Give this app a try, what the heck, it is FREE!. Play around with the sound adjustment (bass, treble, volume). Adjust it to where it masks the tinnitus sound in your ears, or to simply use as a therapeutic sound machine. (Works best with head or ear phones.) Sounds include white noise, bells/chime, xylophone, guitar, rain, ocean surf (my favorite), stream brook, storm with lightning, Amazon forest, jungle, electric fan, fireplace. Try em all to see what you like. Bonus Tip: The app can stay on in the background so that if you use other parts of the phone (e-mail, etc.) you don't lose the sound therapy. To turn off the sound simply open the Relax App and press the universal symbol for "Stop", the square in the middle of the screen. To restart press the play symbol.

★★★★★ Excellent!! From a week ago had a problem that from one of ears annoying sound had come for 24 hrs that couldn't sleep at all. But then the doctor introduced this app and I tested last night with the raining sound for 8 hrs and now the sound has gone!!! So if anyone has a problem try it!

★★☆☆☆ Sound is just a basic noise just as irritating as the tinnitus. Rest of the sounds don't do anything for me at all.... Then you can't even stop it. Nothing to press....JUNK
