Because of this app I no longer have to pay for any type of cloud storage for my phone through Verizon or Dropbox or any other type of cloud I just simply take pictures take videos the app starts up and immediately uploads my videos and my pictures to my Synology NAS at home. This app rocks.

It works great apart from the abysmal "Preparing" hanging on videos especially larger ones. It is unacceptable to not be able to consistently back up your photos and videos to your NAS because they are stuck. I have to restart the app many times until it finally passes. And large files are worse because it can decide to hang at any point. Please drop this Preparing phase and just upload the files... edit Aug 2026: Synology has finally pushed a new version that handles backups better!

Not sure if it's the app's fault, but the backup jobs are not fully reliable, it stops backing up on its own even with automatic backup enabled. Perhaps the Android cuts off permissions, but if that is the case, maybe some kind of feature to notify and ask the permissions again would help

What Synology have done to this app? It's not been working for a couple of months now. It's stopped uploading images - it'll get so far then say connection to the internet has been lost (er, no, it hasn't). But worse, the app doesn't seem to have an upload resume feature and so it starts uploading files from scratch each time you go into the queue rather than resuming from where you were before it "lost" internet connection (which would at least mean you could get stuff uploaded in chunks)

Completely useless app. I keep trying to upload my photos but the app keeps asking me for my 2fa tokens even after I enter them in. I cannot upload a single photo or video to my synology Nas. The desktop solution does not even show me my photos when I am directly on my nas. So now I feel like I completely wasted my money on a nas. Please fix this issue if at all possible. Thanks

Honestly for the backup features they're exactly what I need. What makes it almost three stars at most is the photo and video loading. If you do it through the website (even on phone) it's practically flawless, however the app, not so much. Thumbnails are empty, videos don't load very quick, and photos are never full quality when previewing. Hope the app gets fixed.
